Our class has been learning about the life cycle of plants in science. Students are currently becoming experts on specific parts of a plant and will be teaching the rest of the class about their topic. We are also growing plants in the classroom. They are growing wonderfully! Below are a few pictures of the students working on their posters that they will present to the class!

Mark Your Calendars! Read Across America Day is March 2, 2015 NEA's Read Across America is an annual reading motivation and awareness program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading on March 2, the birthday of beloved children's author Dr. Seuss. Our class would love to invite parents to come to our classroom to read aloud their favorite book. It could be a favorite picture book, not necessarily by Dr. Seuss, or a book you especially loved as a child, or one you have enjoyed reading with your child. We need volunteers at the following times: 8:30am 9:45am 11:00am 12:15pm 1:00pm All parents are invited to come into our classroom at 2:30 to celebrate “Read Across America Day” by reading with their child. Students are encouraged to wear PJs and bring their favorite books to share throughout the day. If you are interested in reading aloud at one of the times mentioned above, please return this sheet (in your child's folder) with your name next to the time that you would be willing to read. I will then let you know if that time is available. If you have any questions, please let me know! Thank you, Mrs. Damhof Dear Parents: On Wednesday, March 25th, Bromwell’s Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades are going on a field trip to the Arvada Center. The kids will be watching the 10:00 a.m. production of “Charlotte’s Web”! The field trip will cost $11.00 per student (there is a fee for our buses since we are leaving Denver). Please send cash or a check made out to “Bromwell” to school with your child by Monday, March 2 so that we can get the invoice paid. We have seats reserved for our students, our 6 classroom teachers, our 6 paraprofessionals, and 6 parent chaperones (one per classroom). If you would like to be your classroom’s parent chaperone, please email your teacher. Parent chaperones must also pay the $11.00 fee. This show is sold out so we cannot bring any extra adults. Ways you can help at home: Work with your child on telling time and counting money. Ask them to tell you what time it is a few times throughout the day using an analog clock. If you are at the store and pay for something with cash, ask students to see if they can figure out how much change they will get back. Count money each day using both bills and coins. This is help your student tremendously, the more exposed to these concepts they are the faster they will master these skills. Thank you for all your help!
