Mark Your Calendars!
Read Across America Day is March 2, 2015
NEA's Read Across America is an annual reading motivation and awareness program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading on March 2, the birthday of beloved children's author Dr. Seuss.
Our class would love to invite parents to come to our classroom to read aloud their favorite book. It could be a favorite picture book, not necessarily by Dr. Seuss, or a book you especially loved as a child, or one you have enjoyed reading with your child.
We need volunteers at the following times:
8:30am
9:45am
11:00am
12:15pm
1:00pm
All parents are invited to come into our classroom at 2:30 to celebrate “Read Across America Day” by reading with their child. Students are encouraged to wear PJs and bring their favorite books to share throughout the day.
If you are interested in reading aloud at one of the times mentioned above, please return this sheet (in your child's folder) with your name next to the time that you would be willing to read. I will then let you know if that time is available.
If you have any questions, please let me know!
Thank you,
Mrs. Damhof
